Hey Guys,

I'm trying to teach myself illustrator (really I should probably just get a book, but you know...nothing like first hand experience and all that jazz).

Anyway. I'm trying to learn how to do gradients w/in shapes. What I want is to have it go from a color to transparency. But I can't figure out how to change the colors on the gradient bar. It's obviously not double-clicking or right-clicking the current colors (which all I can get is the preset black to white). So, how do you change the colors in the gradient?

Also, this has been bugging the crap out of me but why on earth can't you use color dropper with the color selection window open? Can you and I'm just dense? Do you have to drop the color and then click on the box to open the color selection window?....that is kinda round about but oh well...

Anyway, any tips with illustrator would be good. I'm trying! I'll post what I've been working on in to to try and learn
